Abstract
Dental implants have become one of the most common procedures to rehabilitate patients with missing teeth. Implant therapy can be successfully provided to elderly patients and age alone does not seem to affect the implant survival rate. But several systemic diseases and relative medications have been reported to impair or in some cases complicate dental implant surgery. According to implant failure cases, it can be concluded that dentists should be aware of accurate and evidencebased knowledge of systemic diseases and medication and patient with systemic disease should be informed before implant placement.
